In 2005, we bought a plot from Intervast with the idea of building a house there one day. We were warned by many people that building in Suriname comes with a lot of risks, especially if you are not there yourself. We therefore started looking very carefully for a reliable partner when we decided to build in 2018. We spoke to many parties and in the end we chose Intervast with full conviction.

14 years ago, my husband and I had a dream: to build our own house in Suriname! We were able to make this dream come true with Intervast and we had a lovely house that we enjoyed for 13 years. Every year we went to Suriname for a few months until my husband was struck by an incurable disease and sadly passed away.

The service I received from Intervast when buying a plot in their allotment project was excellent and left me very satisfied.
I could handle all matters via e-mail from Sweden - after all, it was 2020 and the beginning of the covid pandemic.
When I needed additional information, I could easily reach Intervast by phone or WhatsApp. Even my parents could visit the Intervast office in Suriname for additional information.

We were told in advance by many people that you have to be there yourself if you have a house built in Suriname, otherwise there would only be misery.
Well, we went to Suriname when the first brick was placed and only returned to Suriname when the house was completed. All went well, the house looked good and was nicely finished.
For about five years, my wife and I had been thinking of having a property built in Suriname so that we could really start enjoying the country, nature, people and food after retirement. We explored various options, from those on offer in the Netherlands to those in Suriname. The latter was by far the most interesting in terms of price, but also presented the most uncertainties and risks.
About two years ago, we partnered with Intervast to sell our home in Suriname. Unfortunately, the unstable economic situation in Suriname made it take much longer than expected to sell our house. In spite of this, Intervast worked hard from the beginning to achieve a good sale.
